How to Clean Vinyl Fence

Vinyl fences are typically very easy to maintain, they don’t require painting or staining, their surface doesn’t scratch easily, and they’re easy to clean. You’ll never have to refinish, paint or seal a vinyl fence. Repairs can be a bit tricky though they shouldn’t be a common occurrence with this sturdy material. The cost of repairs widely varies depending on what’s damaged. However, before you consider replacing your vinyl fencing, there are some steps you can take to both clean your vinyl fence and make it look as good as new again.

Occasionally algae, mold, or mildew will start to grow on a vinyl fence, especially if the fence sits near a damp or wet area. To clean this off simply hose your fence to clean the majority of the stain, and then scrub it down with a cleaning solution and water.

For light soil and debris, a garden hose with a spray nozzle should do the trick. You can use a pressure washer, but in most cases, that’s more power than you need. For deeper, more hands-on cleaning you can treat mold or mildew with vinegar

DIY Vinegar Cleaning Solution:
1. Mix ½ cup white vinegar with 1-2 gallons of water
2. Wet a rag with the solution and wipe down the fence
3. Rinse your fence with water
